Industrial and Roller Shutter Doors

Roller shutter doors are without doubt the most popular type of door. Different fixing arrangements allow roller shutters to be installed in many ways. The total weight of the door is carried by the side piers, no special steel or lintel is required. Installation is quick and easy. When in position the small amount of space occupied is well away from any vehicles. When repair is necessary the interlocking curtain sections enable remedial work to be carried out quickly and economically.

These roller shutter doors are built to withstand the toughest conditions giving the user the reliability they need whilst retaining ease of operation. The best materials are used and the highest standards of quality are maintained and through continual development and research we have engineered our rolling shutter without sacrificing specification, so that this door offers value unequalled by any other.

Application
Roller Shutter doors are ideal for applications where a high degree of security is required together with consistently good reliability. Roller Shutter doors are easily adaptable to suit a variety of different installation details, making this type of door suitable for both new construction work and refurbishment work in factories, warehouses, workshops and other commercial buildings.

Alluminium shutters

The secure-roll security shutter range has a choice of 3 profile sizes 37mm, 55mm and 77mm. All of the secure-roll profiles are Aluminium double skin extrusions, designed to give optimum strength. Secure-roll also has a choice of operating systems and control options to match all requirements

Secure-roll 37mm profile

Secure Roll 37mm Profile

37mm profile sections are designed to interlock to give maximum security when closed. Small profiles have improved rolling characteristics allowing smaller head space requirement, the 37mm profile only requires as little as 150mm headroom. Every secure-roll shutter comes complete with reinforced bottom rail section giving added security when closed. When using a manual counterbalance operating system the locking section will be incorporated in a specially designed extruded base rail which has recessed locking bars giving added security against forced entry.

Headplate & Box

Dome face guide caps are also available serving a dual role of covering all fixing points, giving added security as well as giving the guide section a more aesthetically pleasing finish when used in a face fix environment.

Secure-roll 37 has a choice of guide sections to suit most applications. All guide sections come complete with brush strips.

Profile maximum 8.5 Sqm
Manual operation maximum size 5 Sqm

Headplate Sizes

All of the above height calculations are based upon a 60mm octagonal axle. If exceeding a span of 2000mm please allow for a 70mm axle which may alter the head plate size. Please call to verify your plate details prior to ordering.

Secure-roll 55mm profile

Secure Roll 55mm Profile

55mm profile allows the compromise of physical strength against size. With the strength of profile to allow a span of up to 4000mm but with good rolling characteristics, make the Secure-roll 55 the next step in security shutter applications. Headroom requirement from 205mm and a standard guide section of 75mm x 27mm. All Secure-roll 55 come complete with heavy duty base rail as standard, incorporating a base seal.

Headplate & Housing Cover

Angular Aluminium head plates complete with two part aluminium housing cover.

Aluminium Headplate

Reinforced aluminum angular head plates, which are fully finished in white or brown as standard. All head plates feature a specially designed hard wearing nylon roller entry system ensuring Secure-roll operates perfect every time.

Secure Roll 55mm Guide

Specially designed guide section, incorporating heavy duty brush seal, eliminating draughts and noise. Every guide section is fully finished in a powder coated paint covering, Standard colours, white and brown Guide section specification: 75mm x 27mm. Profile maximum 13 Sqm Manual operation maximum size 6.5 Sqm

Secure-roll 77mm profile

Sercure Roll 77mm Profile

77mm profile is a heavy duty extrusion designed to interlock to give maximum security when closed. Larger profiles allow greater spans to be covered in one shutter, as the profile is stronger. The Secure-roll 77mm profile is able to span up to 6500mm in a single shutter. Secure-roll 77 is also available in a punched format supplied with optional glazing. The punched sections are 100mm x 40mm with 25mm between open sections, the punching detail can be inline or brick bond pattern in design. Secure-roll 77 shutter comes complete with reinforced bottom rail section complete with heavy duty base seal, giving added security when closed. When using Secure-roll 77 on larger applications a sliding head plate mechanism is utilised, reducing shutter deflection.

Operating Systems

Therma-roll is available with a choice of operating systems to suit all application requirments.

Somfy Tubular Motor

Electric operation. Using Somfy tubular motors Therma-roll can be power driven with ease, with the choice of manual over-ride options for doorway shutters and non over-ride options for window shutters. A range of Somfy motors utilising electronic limits are available to match all applications where hard wiring visibility is an issue.

Manual Counter Balance

Manual Counterbalance Operation. Utilising specially designed spring systems to compensate the weight of the Therma-roll profiles, manual operation is made light and easy. All manual shutters are supplied with a base rail security lock system.

Gearbox Operation

Gearbox Operation. When manual operation is required from the internal elevation of the building a gearbox system can offer a perfect solution, allowing the shutter to be raised using a crank handle.

Autolock

Auto locking System can be used with motorised and gearbox operated shutters to enhance security.

Tape winder box operation is available on the Therma-roll 40mm and 52mm profile shutters. Allowing easy operation from the internal elevation of the building.

Control Options

In conjunction with powered operation a selection of control options are available.

In-Built System

In Built System

In Built system allows the shutter box to be hidden completely when viewed from the building exterior.

  • The head box is a upvc section with a removable internal access panel see Fig 3.
  • Designed for use with new build, the system can also be integrated when refurbishing window profiles.
  • Recessing the internal block work to accommodate the guide section allows the guide to be flush with the outside face of the finished brickwork see Fig 2.
  • Using a standard step lintel to create the space required to hide the head plate system above the external finished brick line.
  • The shutter can either be fitted directly to the window system off site, or fitted directly to the wall before the window is installed.
  • The window section requires an additional spacer attached to each side to ensure that the glass line does not interfere with the finished external brickwork.

Standard Face Fix

Standard Face Fix

Standard Face fix is used for most retro-fit applications, using standard head plates and full box cover, this system sits directly onto standard layout brickwork with the box surface mounted above the window opening. When using face fix with certain applications a base cill angle may be required when the existing window cill is not suitable for the shutter to close onto.

Standard Reveal Fix

Standard Reveal Fix

Standard Reveal Fix allows the shutter to fit between two parallel surfaces. All shutters have a full box which includes a back box ( Fascia) that hides the barrel mechanism. On wider spans where the fascia is unsupported we advise the use of a stiffening angle to help ensure the fascia stays rigid. The over-ride or gearbox outlet can be positioned to either exit from the front of the plate or the back, allowing operation from inside or outside. This application is commonly used for recessed doorways and cabinet applications.
